After successfully advocating for increased funding for Broadband projects, I was able to secure a $1.2 million Minnesota Border-to-Border infrastructure grant. By partnering with Comcast, high-speed fiber lines - currently being installed - will bring access throughout Corcoran by the end of 2024.
In 2022, we approved plans to construct our first municipal well, water treatment facility and water tower in Northeast Corcoran. Since then, I have helped secure over $13,000,000 in combined Federal and State funding to substantially reduce the cost of that infrastructure
Among a number of key technological improvements we have implemented at city hall - I am perhaps most excited about two major upgrades residents will notice soon!
Specifically, Granicus Meeting and Agenda Management software and Laserfiche data & records management for accessing digitized city documents
While new development density is mandated by the Met Council at an average of 3 units/acre within the MUSA - we have worked hard to find a way to allow for some new development to come in at lower densities. With the implementation of our new Conservation Residential District, we were able to add an option for some new development to come in at a lower density than previously possible.
In my four years as mayor, Corcoran has been consistently rated by Safewise as one of the top-10 safest cities in Minnesota!
I am proud to support the amazing officers who keep our community safe and will continue to ensure they have the necessary resources to protect our residents and business community.

In the coming years, we will need to make some critical decisions on City Services that could effect our budget. We will need your input more than ever as we consider these items. I remain committed to listening to the community on these decisions.
Additionally, Careful growth and diversification of our tax base will allow us to continue improving and expanding city services while minimizing the impact of our residential tax burden.
Accordingly, we reduced our city tax rate in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and it remained flat in 2024, despite the challenge of increasing service demands in a growing city, in a time of unprecedented inflation.
Our city code needs to be able to adapt to the needs of our residents. I will continue to support these changes when necessary and always appreciate your input!
We've made a number of key changes to our City Code to better suit the needs of our residents. You can read more about them here.
In 2022, at the request of many residents, the Council voted to eliminate individual Dust Control assessments. I supported this change, and we began incorporating the cost of dust control on our gravel roads into our city budget.
Significant work has continued on our City Park Master plan as we have brought on a consultant to help us complete and implement our plan!
Additionally, I continue to work on identifying and securing additional funding sources when opportunities arise. In the last year, I helped secure $500,000 in Federal funding as well as $300,000 from Hennepin County for City Park.
When complete, City Park will be a wonderful amenity for our residents that's unlike anything we have now! Click here for more information
After coming to a cost sharing agreement with the City of Medina, and taking advantage of additional funding sources through the State and County the Hackamore Road Improvement project broke ground in 2023 with the final road work and new trail underway this summer.
The new trail segment will connect the future Diamond Lake Regional Trail to trails in Maple Grove, Plymouth and Medina at the corner of 101 & Hackamore Road.
Anyone who has driven on Hackamore the last few years knows how desperately these improvements were needed. Fortunately, as the project nears completion, it appears that it will come in significantly under budget.
In addition to the City Park Remaster, there are some other exciting Park & Trail projects coming to Corcoran.

One of the many technological improvements we've recently implemented - Residents can now access utility accounts and pay their bills online.
Additionally, Building Permit applications can now be completed online.
