In 2022, I successfully advocated with a group of Minnesota mayors for our state Legislature to fully fund the Minnesota Border-to-Border grant program. A record $210,000,000 was allocated to broadband expansion!
In 2023, we were awarded $1,298,785 from the Minnesota Border-to-Border Grant Program to help fund broadband infrastructure throughout the city. We combined that grant with $108,000 from our ARPA funding, a Hennepin County Broadband grant of an additional $108,000 and partnered with Comcast, who made an additional contribution of over $2.8M to install high-speed fiber lines throughout the city.
In other words, this project will ensure that all Corcoran residents have access to Fiber-based high-speed internet without burdening Corcoran taxpayers.
