Since taking office, I have made a significant efforts to identify areas of city code that are causing issues, outdated or simply not meeting the needs of our community. I remain committed to listening to the community and advocate for common sense changes to our city code when issues arise.
Below are just a few examples of changes or additions to city code that we have made to help make our code meet the needs of our community, or to better protect Corcoran residents.
In 2023, Residents in two of Corcoran's newer developments raised concerns about a couple of areas with heavy pedestrian traffic that didn't have a dedicated crosswalk. To address the issue, we had Stantec design solutions to those existing crossings in Bellwether and Ravinia (which were installed shortly thereafter) as well as come up with a policy we can implement as part of the development process so that these issues are less likely to arise in the future. The resulting policy is attached in the memo below
